The doll in the garden

A Ghost story, by Mary Downing Hahn

A haunted garden, an eerie sound of a crying child, a mysterious white cat with no shadow…

Ten year old Ashley and her mom has just moved into their new country flat, hoping for some peace and quiet in the sleepy countryside. But this summer will be far from quiet…
For in the neighbor’s old overgrown rose garden, something is stirring under the neglected bramble hedge, something that moves in the shadows and cries at night…

The doll in the garden is a beautifully written book, it’s exciting and thrilling, but also delicate and vulnerable. It is a story about loss and about letting go, forgiveness and sorrow, new beginnings and hope. But most of all it is a story about comfort.

It may seem like just a ghost story, but it is not. It is a story that will touch your heart and stay with you long after you have put the book down.

The story is written for children, but can also be enjoyed by adults, as it touches some sensitive topics about how we deal with grief. It is not a sad book, it is beautiful and hopeful in every way.

I highly recommend this book! Five out five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Happy reading!
